Experiencing Technical Difficulties
I was having some problems with my blog. I won't go into all the gory details...but if anyone can respond to this just to let me know it is up and running I would appreciate it (Gary, the task might fall to you since I think you are my only reader)!
Easter was a wonderful time for our family this year. It is my favorite part of the entire church year for obvious reasons. There was a gentleman who is from our community that I see regularly while at work who is "fervent for The Word", his leaning is toward more charismatic christianity. I saw him shopping on Easter Sunday. I asked him if he was enjoying his day and he basically said that Easter Sunday was not so special. I was very shocked by what he said. I responded by saying, "Easter is the entire reason we are Christians!" It brought to mind the song we sang Easter morning "This Joyful Eastertide". The refrain says, "Had Christ who once was slain, not burst His three day prison...our faith would be in vain. But now has Christ arisen, arisen, but now has Christ arisen!"
Easter is the victorious triumph over the Evil One...it is where our hope and comfort rests. It is forever pointing us to the cross, not to some revival or emotional connection to God. It is tangible and real. Without that faith Easter is "just another day", but with that faith it becomes so much more!

Hey there - glad you're back online. Also glad to hear you had a nice Easter. Saw the kiddos on Paul's blog. You have a gorgeous family.

Well sister Amy, you could not have said it better. What did your friend say after that mini sermon? Paul should be jealous. As Pastor Dreyer keeps driving home to us, it is all about Christ.

Wondered what happened to you! I missed the emails letting me know that a new comment had posted. Good to see you're back!

It's nice to know that you are still out there-thought you might have fallen victim to the Bermuda Triangle of Blogs. I tried to check in one day and all I got was a blank screen. It was like reading my own thoughts.

Nice to know that you are still out there! I thought you'd disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle of blogs. I checked in one day and all that came up was a blank white screen. It was like reading my own thoughts! Hope all is going well with your new job.

Brother Gary, the gentleman didn't really say much to my response. I can't take credit for my "mini sermon"...I think I lifted some of it from Paul's!
Carla, my whole life is a blank screen! I just go through the motions and pray nothing major happens. I know some of you might think I'm nuts, but I really like my job! I enjoy working at Walmart. The people are really nice. It is way better than working for any hospital or nursing home and all the stresses that come with therapy work (Cheryl--can you say paperwork?) Give me a dirty toilet any day!
